MAYA TALWADKER, 2026) ADEALY VIEGAS; SHAIKH AIYESHA BEPARI; AMBERLY FREYA DSA; ANDRIYA CLARISHA FERNANDES; ANTHIA PEARL FERNANDESWedding tourism has become a valuable niche in the global tourism industry, shifting attention from traditional ceremonies to unique celebrations. This study looks at the perceptions and motivations of Indian couples choosing Goa as their wedding destination. Using a quantitative descriptive research approach, we collected data from 168 Indian couples through surveys. The results show a very positive view of Goa, with 75.60% of respondents naming it as their top choice for a destination wedding. The main reasons include Goa’s natural beauty and beaches, which are the strongest motivators, followed closely by its relaxed and stress-free vibe. Other important factors are personal dreams, surrounding ambiance, and the ease of having both the wedding and honeymoon in one place. The study also reveals that couples from nearby states like Maharashtra and Karnataka, mainly aged 25 to 34 and from urban areas, make up the main market segment. In summary, the research confirms that Goa has a strong reputation for offering unique and memorable experiences that exceed couple expectations. These insights offer useful strategies for tourism planners, marketers, and hospitality providers to further strengthen Goa’s role as a sustainable and competitive wedding tourism destination.
