Item Exploring the Barriers to Adoption of Sustainable Fashion: Age and Income Based Consumer Study(ASST. PROF. MARIA SANCHA PEREIRA, 2026) SHANIA LOYOLA D’SOUZA; TASMIYA KHAN PATHAN; CLEZA ANCIA PEREIRA; JESSICA BARRETO; JYOTI VISHNU MUNDAVAREThis study examines the barriers to the adoption of sustainable fashion among individuals in South Goa. The primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 221 respondents selected using convenience cum purposive sampling. The study examines variations in barriers across two age groups (18–40 years and 41–60 years) and two monthly income groups (below Rs 50,000 and Rs 50,000 and above). The responses were recorded using a five-point Likert scale (Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree) and analysed using descriptive statistics such as mean perception scores and standard deviations to summarise the level of agreement and the extent of variation within groups, respectively. The results show that several barriers are common across age and income cohorts, while others differ moderately by demographic segment. The study provides descriptive evidence on variations in perceived barriers and intentions across demographic segments.
