The present study examines the socio-economic profile, challenges, opportunities, and financial status of private tuition providers. The primary objective of the study is to understand the reasons for taking up private tuition as a profession, to investigate the challenges and growth opportunities faced by tuition providers, and to evaluate their financial condition. The findings are based on primary data collected through a structured questionnaire from 72 private tuition providers using convenience sampling. Both descriptive and inferential statistical tools were used for analysis. The findings reveal that private tuition is undertaken both as a source of income and due to interest in teaching, with flexibility and personal satisfaction emerging as key motivating factors. Career guidance and soft skill training were identified as major growth opportunities, while the use of online platforms remains limited. Tuition also serves as an important source of income and financial support, but income stability and sufficiency differ across respondents. Overall, the study contributes to understanding the role of private tuition in the education sector and its significance as an emerging source of income and employment
